Dhaka, March 24 -- Three members of a family have been killed and three others injured after a car veered out of control and crashed into a banyan tree in Jashore's Bagharpara Upazila.

The accident took place around 3am on Tuesday in the Gaidghat area on the Jashore-Magura regional highway, according to Barobazar Highway Police Station chief (OC) Alamgir Kabir.

The dead were identified as Abdul Majid Sardar, 70, of Fatehabad village in Monirampur Upazila, his son Mahmud Hasan Zakaria Jony, 43, and Jony's 4-year-old daughter Seherish.

The injured were first taken to Jashore General Hospital and later transferred to a hospital in Dhaka.
