Dhaka, March 17 -- Three members of a family travelling on a motorcycle have been killed in Lalmonirhat's Pagram Upazila after a freight truck ploughed into their vehicle.

The accident occurred on Tuesday morning in the Mirzarcote area on the Lalmonirhat-Burimari regional highway.

The victims have been identified as Shafiqul Islam, his wife, and their 8-month-old daughter. They were residents of Dinajpur's Hakimpur Upazila. Shafiqul was employed as a field worker at a Patgram-based NGO called "Podokkhep".

Shafiqul's son has also been critically injured in the accident. He was rescued from the scene and sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
