Dhaka, April 8 -- Three more children with measles-like symptoms have died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

The death toll from suspected measles cases at the hospital has increased to 46.

The three died in the 24 hours to noon on Wednesday, said hospital spokesman Dr Shankar K Biswas.

He said, "In the last 24 hours, 23 new patients have been admitted with measles-like symptoms. At the same time, 10 have recovered and returned home.

"Currently, 133 patients are undergoing treatment at the hospital."

Shankar said a total of 452 patients have been admitted to the hospital with symptoms since the start of the measles outbreak, of whom 46 have died.
