Dhaka, June 9 -- At least three people have died after suffering burn injuries while while a house was being set ablaze over the rape and murder of a teenage girl in Pabna Sadar Upazila.

Two of them died at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka on Tuesday morning while the third had died at the same hospital on Monday afternoon, said Pabna Sadar Police Station chief Tariqul Islam.

The dead were identified as Suman Sheikh, 35, Saiful Islam Sabbir, 28, and Sapu, 45.

All were day labourers and were present at the scene either as bystanders or attempting to put out the fire.

Police and witnesses said the body of a 15-year-old girl was recovered in a sack from the Padma River in Sadar Upazila on Wednesday afternoon. ...
