Dhaka, March 26 -- Two people have been killed after their motorcycle was rammed by a bus on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway in Chakaria. Another person was critically injured in the accident.

The incident occurred in the Baniarchara area of the Upazila around 4:30am on Thursday, according to Sub-Inspector (SI) Rabiul Islam of Chiringa Highway Police Station.

The dead have been identified as Shariful Islam, 30, and Raisul Islam Shishir, 30, from Atipara of Dhaka's Uttarkhan.

SI Rabiul said a "Lal Sobuj Paribahan" bus was headed from Chattogram to Cox's Bazar when it rear-ended a motorcycle travelling in the same lane.

The motorcycle was damaged in the accident and two passengers were killed on the spot.
