168 more Bangladeshis fly home after detention in Libya
Bangladesh, Sept. 15 -- Another 168 Bangladeshis have returned home from detention centres in Libya, where they had been held after being rescued from the Mediterranean Sea.
The Bangladesh Embassy in Libya said the migrants were flown home on Monday night on a Burak Air flight from the Ganfuda Detention Centre in Benghazi.
The flight landed at Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka after 10am on Tuesday, according to FlightAware.
The embassy said it is working closely with local authorities and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to ensure the safe and humane repatriation of Bangladeshis held in different detention centres in Libya.
