Dhaka, Feb. 22 -- A case has been filed against 150 people for allegedly obstructing newly elected MP Rumeen Farhana from paying tribute at the Shaheed Minar in Brahmanbaria and assaulting her supporters.
The majority of the accused are activists of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its affiliate organisations.
Sarail Police chief Monjur Kader Bhuiyan said the case was filed on Sunday by Ahad, a supporter of Brahmanbaria‑2 MP Rumeen Farhana, who is known by a single name.
The complaint names five individuals, while 140-150 others remain unidentified.
Anwar Hossain, former general secretary of Sarail Upazila BNP, has been named as the lead accused.
