Bangladesh, Aug. 1 -- The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has said that 14,384 candidates recommended as assistant teachers in government primary schools during the interim government will join their duties on Oct 29.

The decision was taken at a virtual meeting held on Saturday, the ministry said in a statement.

Primary and Mass Education Secretary Md Sakhawat Hossain said, "The government is working to appoint the 14,000 assistant teachers recommended for primary schools.

"The process has been delayed because of investigations and procedural requirements, but hopefully they will start on Oct 29."
