Bangladesh, Aug. 9 -- At least 13 Bangladeshi workers have reportedly died in a fire at a sofa factory in Saudi Arabia's Riyadh, with local officials saying 10 of the victims were from Naogaon's Atrai Upazila.

The fire broke out around 2pm Sunday local time at a sofa factory in the Musa Sanaiya industrial area under Shifa Police Station, according to relatives and local officials.

Khajura Union Chairman Md Sohrab Hossain said, citing relatives, that everyone was asleep at around 2pm Saudi time when one worker went out for a haircut. On returning, he saw the fire and raised the alarm.

Firefighters later recovered 17 bodies, all lying down, after extinguishing the blaze, the chairman said.
