Bangladesh, July 15 -- A Forest Department trawler carrying nine people has capsized in the Baleshwar River while heading to a reserved forest for a tree-planting programme in Barguna's Patharghata.

Eight people swam ashore, while one worker remains missing.

The accident occurred around 11am on Wednesday near the Padma area, Range Officer Md Badiuzzaman Khan said.

The missing man has been identified only as Jahangir, 50.

Fire Service and Civil Defence personnel and Coast Guard members have launched a search operation.
