Dhaka, April 16 -- Police have remanded six people to police custody for questioning over the murder of Emon aka "Alex Emon", the leader of "Alex Group" youth gang, in Dhaka's Mohammadpur.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Monirul Islam made the decision on Thursday after hearing the application by the case investigating officer.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Mizanur Rahman of the Prosecution Department said the remanded suspects are Sayeed Hossain Shimul alias Ayush, Tuhin Biswas, Rabbi Kazi, Sumon alias Pakhir Pola Sumon, Rana, and Rasel aka Picchi Russell.

On Sunday afternoon, a group of attackers hacked and injured Emon on the slope of an embankment along Buddhijibi Road.
