United Kingdom, Sept. 25 -- Chinese President Xi Jinping has called on the US and China to work together to "develop and manage AI for good", saying the rapidly advancing technology must remain under human control.

Speaking at the White House on Thursday (24.09.26) during his state visit to Washington, Xi said the two countries had both the ability and responsibility to ensure artificial intelligence served people.

He said: "Both China and the United States are leading nations in artificial intelligence. We have both the capability and responsibility to develop and manage AI for good, and ensure that the development of AI is always under human control."
