United Kingdom, April 6 -- Samsung is ditching its long-running messaging app for Google Messages.
In an End of Service Announcement posted on its website, the South Korean tech titan confirmed that Samsung Messages will not be available by July 2026.
The exact shutdown date will be confirmed within the app itself.
As part of the transition, users are being encouraged to switch to Google Messages as their default messaging platform.
For users in the United States, the move comes with several benefits.
Google Messages supports RCS (Rich Communication Services), enabling features such as high-quality media sharing, improved group chats, and real-time typing indicators across different smartphone operating systems.
