United Kingdom, March 9 -- London Mayor Sadiq Khan has invited the AI developer Anthropic to expand in the city.

The company has been involved in a dispute with US President Donald Trump's administration after boss Dario Amodei refused to give America's defence agencies unrestricted access to its tech tools.

Khan has penned a letter to Amodei that could position London as an alternative platform for Anthropic if its tense relationship with the US government continues.

The London Mayor wrote: "It is extremely concerning to see this kind of behaviour, which is a clear attempt to intimidate and punish Anthropic for refusing to remove ethical safeguards.
