United Kingdom, April 9 -- Meta has unveiled a new flagship artificial intelligence (AI) model, Muse Spark.

The model is the first to emerge from Meta's revamped AI division, a unit the company has poured billions into over the past year.

Muse Spark significantly outperforms Meta's previous systems in writing and reasoning tasks, placing it close to leading models from Google, OpenAI and Anthropic.

However, the model still falls short in coding ability - an increasingly important benchmark as competitors double down on developer-focused AI tools.
