United Kingdom, May 4 -- Ask Jeeves has officially shut down "after 25 years of answering the world's questions".

The online search pioneer has now disappeared after owner IAC made the tough decision as it looks to "sharpen its focus" on other areas.

Visitors heading to Ask.com are now met with a farewell message saying: "Every great search must come to an end."

The post continues: "As IAC continues to sharpen its focus, we have made the decision to discontinue our search business, which includes Ask.com.

"After 25 years of answering the world's questions, Ask.com officially closed on May 1, 2026."
