United Kingdom, March 30 -- Anthropic is developing a new AI model that is more capable than any it has previously released.

The AI company confirmed the existence of the new model - understood to be called Claude Mythos - after details of its development were inadvertently leaked via an unsecured and publicly accessible data cache, which was discovered by Fortune magazine.

An Anthropic spokesperson told Fortune: "We're developing a general purpose model with meaningful advances in reasoning, coding, and cybersecurity. Given the strength of its capabilities, we're being deliberate about how we release it. We consider this model a step change and the most capable we've built to date."
