United Kingdom, April 17 -- Zayn Malik has been hospitalised after suffering a mystery health scare.

The 33-year-old star has revealed he's currently recovering from an unspecified illness, meaning he's been forced to cancel some fan events linked to the release of his new album, Konnakol.

Alongside a photo of himself sat in a hospital bed, Zayn wrote on Instagram Story: "To my fans - thank you to all of you for your love and support now and always - been a long week and am still unexpectedly recovering.

"Heartbroken that I can't see you all this week, I wouldn't be in the place I am today without you guys and am so thankful for your understanding.
