The footballer-turned-actor is a staunch royalist but doesn't think that Charles should have been allowed to succeed his late mother as monarch in 2022 because he and his wife Queen Camilla are both divorcees.

Divorced people had been prohibited from marrying into the British royal family until the rules were changed in 2002, but Vinnie thinks that the tradition should have remained in place - allowing Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales to become king and queen instead.
