United Kingdom, Aug. 18 -- The Tupac Shakur murder trial has finally started three decades after the rapper's death.

The hip-hop icon, also known by his stage name 2Pac, was shot and killed in September 1996 when he was just 25, and on Monday (17.08.26) a trial got underway in Las Vegas, Nevada with Duane 'Keffe D' Davis accused of orchestrating his death.

Both the prosecution and Davis' defence gave opening statements earlier in the day.

According to CBS News, Chief Deputy District Attorney Binu Palal told jurors that Davis organised the killing in "an act of revenge" after Shaku attacked his nephew Orlando 'Baby Lane' Anderson.
