United Kingdom, July 8 -- The Pitt leads the Emmy nominations with 25 nods in total.

The popular HBO Max medical series - which features Noah Wyle in the lead role - is up for outstanding drama and has earned 13 acting nods (including Wyle for lead actor).

The Pitt was followed closely by Hacks, which earned 24 nominations (the most ever for a comedy) with star Jean Smart in with a chance of winning her eighth Emmy overall, which would tie her as the performer with the most acting wins.

Other shows up for plenty of awards include Apple TV horror comedy Widow's Bay (19), the streamer's drama Pluribus (18) and the second season of Netflix's Beef (16).
