United Kingdom, April 25 -- Teri Hatcher regrets turning down the chance to perform on Broadway.

The 61-year-old actress - who has 20-year-old daughter Emerson with ex-husband Jon Tenney - had been touring the US in a production of Cabaret in the late 1990s but decided against retaining the role of Sally Bowles when it transferred to the New York stage because she was "exhausted".

She told People magazine: "I was thinking that I've always said my biggest regret, because I don't believe in regret, but after I originated the tour of Sally Bowles in Cabaret from the Rob Marshall, Sam Mendes production back in like 1999... I did that in four cities over seven months with Norbert Leo Butz.

"It was an amazing experience.

"At the end of that...
