United Kingdom, April 4 -- Tamzin Outhwaite says it has been "a very long journey" since her and Tom Ellis' eldest child Flo came out as transgender.

The EastEnders actress and the Lucifer actor - who split in 2014 - share children Flo, 17, and Marnie, 12, and Tamzin admitted life had been eventful as they navigated Flo's gender identity.

Speaking to The Mirror, Tamzin said: "It's been a long journey, a very long journey, but we're in a great place now. I'm just happy that he's happy, and that's how I feel at the moment. He's thriving, absolutely thriving.

"I'm not allowed to talk about him [Flo]. I was only allowed to talk about him on Rob [Beckett] and Josh [Widdicombe]'s podcast, Parenting Hell, because it's his favourite podcast. ...
