United Kingdom, March 14 -- Sydney Chandler was "terrified" to tell her father Kyle Chandler that she wanted to go into acting.

The 30-year-old star has confessed that she felt a sense of trepidation about informing her father - whose credits include Friday Night Lights - that she had caught the performing bug.

Sydney told People: "I mean, he always said, 'This is the last job we want.' And I never wanted to act. I went to school to study poetry.

"Never really liked being in front of people, quite introverted. And then I ended up taking an acting class, kind of an a whim, and something... And I was terrified to tell my dad that I wanted to do it."
