United Kingdom, Aug. 1 -- Slipknot star James 'Jim' Root has appeared to respond to a report that longtime member Sid Wilson has been "permanently kicked out of the band".

On Friday (31.07.26), TMZ claimed that the musician's 28-year run with the group as their DJ and keyboardist had come to an end, citing "a source close to the band and with direct knowledge".

They added that "it's currently unclear what led to him getting the boot", but said Wilson had been "notified late Friday afternoon that he's been permanently kicked out of the band".

Following the TMZ report, Slipknot guitarist Root took to his instagram Stories to apparently address the rumour.
