United Kingdom, Sept. 18 -- Sharon Stone has given up on her dream of becoming a movie director.

The Basic Instinct star, 68, has confessed she's always loved the idea of stepping behind the camera to take charge behind the scenes, but she's convinced being a woman stopped her from taking on those kind of jobs when she was younger and she's now "too tired" to accept a role which involves solving other people's problems for them.
