United Kingdom, July 8 -- Lewis Capaldi splashed out almost £2,000 on drinks for England fans after their World Cup win over Mexico earlier this week.

The Scottish singer saw his beloved Tartan Army crash out of the competition last month, but he is said to have put his card behind the bar of the Marlborough pub in London's Mayfair to pay for Three Lions fans' beverages in the early hours of Monday morning (06.07.26), during a night out with fellow pop megastar Rita Ora.

A partygoer told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: "When the final whistle went and England won, Lewis bought every single punter in the Marlborough a drink.

"Bar staff were instructed to charge all the drinks ordered to him.
