United Kingdom, March 31 -- Scott Mills was reportedly sacked by the BBC in relation to a 2016 police investigation into alleged "serious sexual offences" against a teenage boy.
The 53-year-old BBC Radio 2 presenter has abruptly had his contract terminated, and it's said the investigation - which was dropped because of a lack of evidence - led the broadcaster to cut ties with Mills.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson told the Mirror newspaper: "In December 2016, the Met began an investigation following a referral from another police force.
"The investigation related to allegations of serious sexual offences against a teenage boy.
"These were reported to have taken place between 1997 and 2000.
