United Kingdom, Sept. 5 -- Sara Bareilles considers herself a "vessel" when it comes to her music.

The singer and songwriter was interviewed about her career and upcoming album Good Grief on the Zach Sang Show, when she was asked about writing her famous track Gravity - which Sara admitted felt like a "lifetime ago".

As she reflected on the inspiration for the tune, Sara opened up about her musical approach as a whole.

She said: "My philosophy really about music, and I've said this before, is that it's not mine. It's just like the thing I was like the portal; I was like the available channel that that music was looking for to come through.
