United Kingdom, July 29 -- Sam Smith has confirmed their engagement to Christian Cowan.

The 34-year-old singer - who identifies as non-binary and uses gender-neutral pronouns - has been dating the fashion designer since 2022 and has now confirmed recent reports they are planning to get married, and the Unholy singer is happy with life right now.

They told the New York Times newspaper: "I feel good, I feel happy."

Sam's relationship has inspired their fifth album Hazel Eyes, but that doesn't mean it is all positive.

They said: "I feel all types of things all the time. In my happiest moments, I can get really sad."
