United Kingdom, March 13 -- Rosamund Pike has reflected on the end of her relationship with film director Joe Wright.

In rare comments about the break up, the actress, 47, describing the breakdown of her engagement with the filmmaker, 53, as a deeply painful experience that unfolded after the pair met while working together on the 2005 film Pride and Prejudice.

She told the How to Fail with Elizabeth Day podcast they "had a huge love affair".
