United Kingdom, Sept. 14 -- Robbie Williams has become "addicted" to buying clothes since giving up alcohol and drugs.

The Take That star spent years struggling with substance abuse issues before finally getting clean around 2007 and he's since swapped his addictions for a new obsession with fashion but he's convinced his new fixation is much "healthier" and won't get him "into trouble" with his wife Ayda Field.

He told The Sunday Times newspaper: " "If you'd asked me 25 years ago: 'Do you like fashion?', I'd have said: 'I can't stand it. I find it pretentious and silly'.
