United Kingdom, April 29 -- Perez Hilton wants to keep his "very real experience" with God private after nearly dying in hospital.

Last month, the 48-year-old star revealed he had spent 21 days in hospital battling sepsis, which led to two surgeries and various medical issues including deep vein thrombosis, fluid on his lungs, kidney problems, and an irregular heartbeat, before he felt God "presenting Himself to me" to aid his "miraculous" recovery.

Speaking to the Daily Mail newspaper, he said: "Some things should be kept private, and what happened with me and God was so real, so powerful, and so personal, that I want to keep it between me and God.
