United Kingdom, Sept. 8 -- Penelope Cruz won't shy away from political issues.

The 52-year-old actress stars in Bunker, the new psychological thriller film, alongside her husband Javier Bardem, Stephen Graham, Paul Dano, and Patrick Schwarzenegger, and Penelope feels it would be "very contradictory" to appear in the movie without discussing politics.

Speaking at a press conference at the Venice Film Festival, Penelope shared: "We don't have to agree with our characters, we don't have to agree sometimes with the story, but this involves so many aspects of where the world is right now - things that affect all of us, future generations.
