United Kingdom, Aug. 3 -- Rising star Owen Thiele has revealed the hilarious way his mother keeps him "grounded" amid his exponential rise to fame.

The 29-year-old has become a household name thanks to his roles in shows such as Adults and Overcompensating.

But in an interview with People, Owen laughed that his mum Amy Kanter is always on hand to stop him from getting a big head.

He said: "I'm not grounded. But my mom humbles me. She texts me really ugly pictures of myself. I'll be sitting on the couch, and she'll send me a picture of me looking absolutely hideous. It humbles me."
