United Kingdom, March 16 -- Golden from KPop Demon Hunters made history as the first K-Pop song to win an Oscar on Sunday (15.03.26).
The catchy track won the Best Song accolade ahead of Dear Me from Diane Warren: Relentless, I Lied to You from Sinners, Sweet Dreams of Joy from Viva Verdi, and the title song from Train Dreams, and writer and performer EJAE was overwhelmed with emotion when she stepped onto the stage with her writing partners to accept the prize.
Speaking on stage at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, she tearfully said: "Thank you, Oh my god. Thank you so much to the Academy. Growing up, people made fun of me for liking Kpop but now everyone is singing our song, with it's Korean lyrics, I'm so proud.
