United Kingdom, April 3 -- Olivia Dean credits her friends for keeping her grounded.

The 27-year-old singer has enjoyed a phenomenal year so far - including winning the Grammy Award for Best New Artist and taking home four BRIT Awards in February - but explained how her pals give her a sense of perspective away from the "preposterousness" of the music industry.

Olivia told ELLE magazine: "I come home from doing something like the Grammys, and the debrief we'll have is crazy.

"My life can feel quite extreme sometimes, because I'm in these moments of high glamour and kind of preposterousness. I can see how people can get really lost and confused within this industry. You have to be quite mentally strong.
