United Kingdom, April 13 -- Noah Wyle has said it is an "inevitability" cast members will leave The Pitt.

The former ER star, 54, made the remark as he spoke out following news his co-star on his latest hit medical drama, Supriya Ganesh, 28 -who has played Dr Mohan since the show's first season - will not return for its third season.

The series, which follows the hectic workings of an emergency department, has built its narrative around the shifting nature of hospital staffing.

Speaking to Variety at the PaleyFest event, Noah said the structure of the show meant departures were unavoidable, as writers aim to reflect the realities of medical careers while maintaining continuity within the ensemble cast.
