United Kingdom, Aug. 25 -- Nicollette Sheridan suffered "third-degree rope burns" after an "ugly and painful" incident with her dog.

The former Desperate Housewives actress has told how she had a "little mishap" with her golden retriever, Huckleberry, last week, because she was "distracted" when playing ball with her pet pooch.

Speaking in an Instagram video, she explained: "About five days ago, I was distracted. I was upset by others' behaviour and took it to heart.

"I was not present. I was stuck in my head trying to understand other people's behaviour.

"In doing that, I took my golden retriever, who is 100lbs, and was playing ball with him.
