United Kingdom, Oct. 19 -- Miranda Kerr has been battling a painful health condition in secret for years.

The 43-year-old model has revealed she was diagnosed with proctitis - which causes uncomfortable bowel issues - and it means she now has to be "really specific" about what she eats so she's changed her diet to cut out foods such as eggs which could trigger inflammation.

She told Australia's Stellar magazine: "This is what I do for me because I've had my blood taken and I've had issues for, oh my goodness. I had proctitis. It's an inflammatory bowel thing, so I have to be really specific about what I eat.

"Certain things inflame me. That doesn't mean it inflames everyone. For instance, my kids eat eggs. That's amazing, right?"
