United Kingdom, June 21 -- Milo Ventimiglia believes being a father has made him a better actor.

The 48-year-old star - who has 16-month-old Ke'ala with pregnant wife Jarah Mariano - thinks having a family of his own has given him a whole new depth of emotion to draw on in his work, and knowing he needs to provide for them has made his projects more meaningful.

He told People magazine: "Life is just different. Being a father has deepened the well of emotions that I experience.

"We deal in emotions, so being able to tap into that well is more impactful for the work.
