United Kingdom, July 22 -- Former The Little House on the Prairie star Melissa Gilbert has defended the Netflix reboot of the show, saying it's the perfect example of "dramatic license".

Melissa starred as Laura Ingalls Wilder in the original NBC series, based on Laura's autobiographical frontier saga novels, from 1974 to 1983.

However, now the show has been rebooted for a new franchise on Netflix, it has attracted some criticism about "historical accuracy", with Melissa responding in a post on the Substack publishing platform.
