United Kingdom, Oct. 3 -- Lady Gaga is "in her element" as a mother.

The 40-year-old pop star and her fiance Michael Polansky welcomed daughter Rose into the world via a surrogate in June and the Bad Romance hitmaker is said to be "loving" life out of the spotlight with her family at their home in Northern California.

A source told Us Weekly magazine: "She is so incredibly happy and in her element as a mother.

"[Their home] is a peaceful and perfect place for the baby.

"[Gaga is at ease] in a place with so much nature and beauty around her. It's the perfect setting. She loves it in Northern California. They are in their element."
