United Kingdom, May 20 -- Kylie Minogue has compared being diagnosed with cancer to being struck by a "meteor".

The Spinning Around star battled breast cancer in 2005 and went on to make a full recovery, but she has since revealed she was dealt a devastating blow in 2021 when she was diagnosed with cancer for a second time 16 years later.

Now Kylie has opened up about the lasting impact battling the disease twice had on her. She told the Los Angeles Times: "Obviously, that's a moment that will forever be imprinted on my being and in my memory.

"It's like a meteor coming from outer space and hitting you on the head. You're still you, just a different version of you, or the next you.

"There was a lot of uncertainty at the time."
