United Kingdom, Sept. 4 -- Julia Louis-Dreyfus has admitted there was "tons" of tension on the set of Seinfeld.

The 65-year-old star played Elaine Benes on the hit NBC sitcom and explained that she and co-stars including Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander and Michael Richards would often "butt heads" during the making of the show.

Quizzed on if there was "ever any friction" on set by Kristin Batalucco on the Friends Keep Secrets podcast, Julia replied: "Of course. Yes. Tons."

Pressed further on the matter, the Veep star said: "Yeah. I mean, it's hard to do anything really well, and it takes a lot of work, and you're going to butt heads."
