United Kingdom, June 4 -- Jennifer Garner "hardly worked" after the "upheaval" of her split from Ben Affleck.

The Alias star, 53, discussed her career, family life and return to acting in a new interview, with the actress - who has three children with her ex Ben - saying she dramatically reduced her workload while raising her family and then worked even less following the couple's separation.

Jennifer, whose other best-known roles include 13 Going on 30, Juno and Dallas Buyers Club - told InStyle: "First of all, when you're in a performance kind of role, you give up a year/year-and-a-half of performance while you are pregnant, having a baby, recovering."
