United Kingdom, April 16 -- Jennie Garth has vowed to take the "best possible care" of herself because she is "so scared" of dying.

The 54-year-old Beverly Hills, 90210 star has embraced a vegan diet "on and off for years" and she admits cutting out meat and diary is in part due to concerns about her health because she is terrified about being struck down by a terrible illness after experiencing so much "loss" in her life.

During an appearance on Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast, she explained she was initially put off eating meat after being raised on a farm.
