United Kingdom, Aug. 25 -- James Blunt has responded to online speculation attempting to identify him as the unnamed British singer-songwriter described by Hayden Panettiere in a distressing yacht encounter in her memoir.

The 52-year-old You're Beautiful singer shared former showbiz journalist Dean Piper's Substack article on X - which argued he had nothing to do with the incident - after photographs of James and Hayden together in Cannes in 2009 were circulated online following the actress's death at 36 on August 16.

Hayden did not name the singer in her memoir This Is Me: A Reckoning, and the Daily Mail said on Tuesday (25.08.26) representatives for James had "categorically denied" suggestions he was the person described in the book....
