United Kingdom, Sept. 14 -- Dave Franco feels he's finally getting his "own due".

The 41-year-old actor grew up in the shadow of his older brother, Hollywood star James Franco, but Dave is thrilled to have stepped out on his own in recent years.

During an appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast, Dave explained: "It's a complicated thing where I love my brother, and I'm so grateful for the advice he gave me coming through this business, and just even watching how he navigated certain situations.

"I'm always grateful for that. But I think in recent years, I've kind of gone down my path long enough that people have started to give me my own due."
