United Kingdom, Oct. 4 -- Isaiah Washington has broken his silence on his wife Jenisa Garland's sudden death last year.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday (03.10.26), the former Grey's Anatomy star said she "collapsed suddenly" on May 31, 2025, and died just nine days later after "succumbing to a massive hemorrhagic stroke".

Isaiah, 63, who retired from acting in 2023, shared a black-and-white shot of Jenisa, with the caption: "Yes.the rumors are true. My dear wife of 29 years collapsed suddenly on May 31, 2025 and passed away on June 9, 2025. It came as a huge shock to me and our entire family.

"She succumbed to a massive hemorrhagic stroke and never recovered."
